So how did we go about baking New Zealand's top iPhone cooking app?
Here's our secret recipe:
Ingredients
- Picture of an iPhone with a blank screen
- Pictures of buttons, dials, objects and icons featuring different iPhone and recipe functions
- A list of possible ingredients
- A list of possible cooking styles
- A sample recipe
- A dozen people from different walks of life (who use iPhones)
- A list of questions with tasks
Equipment
- Printer
- Stanley knife
- Pen
- Camera
- A table
Steps
- Print the picture of the iPhone, buttons, dials and icons to 140gsm paper.
- Cut out the pictures with the Stanley knife then lay them on the table.
- Next, invite one of the people and show them the cut-outs.
- Now, ask them a question(e.g."This is the start screen. What would be the six most useful options on this screen for you?").
-
Observe and note what they do with the cut outs.
-
Move onto the next question and repeat steps 4 to 5. When all the tasks have been completed move onto step 7.
-
Move onto the next person and repeat steps 3 to 6. When all the people have finished move onto step 8.
- Taking your observations and their feedback, mix-in with your iPhone app contents.
-
Leave to rise.
- Knead and shape into desired design.
- Put into a programmable oven and bake until half cooked.
- While still gooey get the people back to taste-test.
- If they don't like it then repeat steps 8 to 12.
- If the people are satisfied then put back into the programmable oven and bake until fully developed.
- While still warm place on the iTunes shelf.
- Serve with iPhone or iPad.
- Share and enjoy!
