We have been enjoying lots of examples recently of the web becoming more immersive, and less predicatable and structured.
Don't get me wrong I'm all for structure - tabs and blue hyperlinks, but only on sites that really need to (high-volume, i'm-here-to-do-business, i'm-busy-get-out-of-my-way). It's lovely to see new interfaces that allow me to be a person, to be distracted, mesmorised and meander. This new 3-D plug in for your browsers transforms a site like Flickr (example shown in the image) or You Tube into an experience. No lists of photos or videos, wander with your mouse and follow the strands of related images in a 3-D space.
It'll be even better when we release our hold on our mouse and move into gesture based browsing in the future (it is coming...), simply wave your hand and move through (virtual) space. Like it.
